This is the collection of Etta Balch Finch's 6 scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings from all over Washington State about the early history of the State. The major emphasis of the collection of newspaper clippings seem to be for Grays Harbor, Lewis and Thurston Counties. There is also an emphasis on Oakville, WA and the founding of the community around Garrard's Creek, near Oakville. The articles include: reminscences of pioneers; histories of different areas and families; histories of buildings; obituaries of different pioneer family members. Some of the pioneer families in the articles are Garrard, Lemon and Balch.
